What is a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service?
A Dynamic DNS associates an easy-to-remember domain name (like your-server.dynamicdnspro.com) with a dynamic public IP address that changes from time to time. This way, you can always access your server even if your internet service provider changes your IP.
How does the mobile app update my IP address?
The mobile app uses an internal ConnectivityWatcher. Every time you change networks (for example, leaving your home WiFi and switching to 4G/5G mobile data), the app natively and immediately detects the change and updates the record on the DynamicDNSPro server.
Can I force it to send the IP of a VPN?
Yes, with the Premium plans (Basic and Pro) you can access the list of local interfaces detected by the operating system and explicitly choose to report the interface of your VPN tunnel or dedicated local network.
